Some sterilization problems simply need more output. Where an 11W lamp covers smaller setups comfortably, the 13W version is the choice for larger aquariums, bigger rooms, and situations where faster microbial knockdown is the priority. The operating principle is the same — UV-C radiation at germicidal wavelengths destroys the DNA of bacteria, viruses, algae, and mould — but the higher wattage means greater intensity across a wider effective range.
Submerge it in a fish tank to clear green water and reduce pathogen load, or stand it upright in a room to sterilize air and surfaces during an unoccupied cycle. The waterproof quartz tube handles both environments. Two suction cup hangers hold it securely against the tank wall when used underwater. A clearly labelled inline power switch gives you direct on/off control without reaching for the wall socket.

Choosing the 13W Over the 11W — When It Makes Sense
The additional wattage makes a measurable difference in tanks above 200 litres, where a lower-power lamp would need significantly longer run times to achieve comparable microbial reduction. Fish farmers running large broodstock or grow-out tanks, and aquarium retailers managing display tanks with heavy fish loads, will find the 13W output more proportionate to the biological load they are managing.
For room use, the 13W suits larger bedrooms, open-plan living areas, server rooms, medical waiting areas, and commercial spaces like salons or pet shops where airborne pathogen and odour control is an ongoing requirement. It is also suited to food storage rooms, walk-in fridges, laboratories, and preservation environments where consistent low-level contamination management is part of routine practice.
Safety Note: UV-C radiation is hazardous to eyes and skin. Do not look at the lamp while it is operating. Always remove people, pets, and plants before running a room sterilization cycle. After use in a room, open windows and doors and allow at least 15 minutes of ventilation before re-entering the space.
